We are leading up to the fashions event of the year at Flemington but before we see the biggest prizes given away at Flemington 'Myer fashions on the field', we partake in what some may say is the greatest race in the world.  The weight for age, 'Tatts Cox Plate'.  Everyone has usually prepared the Spring Racing Carnival Ensemble two seasons in advance from Milan and Paris catwalks and trends, then just as we think we are ready, a bunny, (Danzylum) gets pulled out of the hat at the David Jones Parade.  All of the ladies sit, drewl and admire thinking, I better take another look before the big week.  Moonee Valley really puts on a fantastic show and I love taking my beautiful mum to all my luncheons.  Can I say Catriona, Jules, Emma and all the celebrities were so gorgeous to speak to.  Not minding any people having photo opportunities, in fact Jules was being pulled one way to the next with ladies wanting photos.  What a good sport he is, except for asking me where on earth I found my hat????  Gai Waterhouse had such a lovely presence in the room and as she walked past a table she would smile gracefully and greeting people like she was their dearest friend.  What an admirable strong role model for young ladies.  Lillian is always a stunning headturner and I loved chatting to Rebecca and her mum.  Ladies about to give birth at any moment and all the ladies at my table including Sydney event co-ordinator Sharon Lenton were just all too fabulous.  Thank you to Moonee Valley and Leigh Newton and the gorgeous Janelle Green with the most beautiful vintage headwear.
