The Women In Racing Luncheons always promise colour and fashion. There was plenty of both. I was so excited when Dale Olsson, owner of 'The Hat Box' invited me to be her guest. When I arrived there were friendly smiles and the latest couture designs to be admired. Dale was wearing a beautiful Green and Purple ensemble, Alexandra Harper really belongs on a catwalk, she is just gorgeous, Meridith McMaster is always fabulous and fun and the lovely Patricia Blamer always adorns herself in fantastic headwear. Everyone knows, I am totally envious of Effie's wonderful wardrobe and Julie looked Melbourne Cup ready with her headwear. Suzanne Cotton is one of the most beautiful ladies on the coast and I was admiring her 'celine' shoes, from 'Maryon's' of course. There were parades of Karen Valentine's wonderful Millinery, and Lauren Walker was modeling diamonds from Annabell's. Thank you so much to all the ladies on the Gold Coast for welcoming me and sharing your special luncheon. I love the Women in Racing luncheons, they are always a must in my diary. I was so pleased to see Jenni Bartels leg had healed and I am looking forward to her Derby Day Eve 60th, which I am so honored to be a guest. (At the Windsor, with pipers from the Victoria Police, SPECTACULAR!) Baslyn Beel has been so ill with pneumonia and we were all happy to see her and wish her a speedy recovery. Our thoughts are all with you.
