Burgundy is one of the most difficult colours to wear and there are many interpretations of the colour. Winter Racing Carnival in Australia has dubbed it the 'New Black' but when worn just as one tone it is very aging for more mature wearers and needs a lift as it is a tertiary colour which means it has lots of brown in it.
The best way to wear this colour is to throw some black and or white so it lifts the hue and makes it look less dowdy.
Picking the right burgundy can be like picking the right red lipstick, you really have to know if you want to wear with red/orange or red/blue undertones. Black brings such a heaviness to this colour if not executed correctly so even if you are at Winter Racing Carnival, keep it fun and light.
