Wow, what a fantastic couple of weeks at ‘Rosehill’, ‘Myer, fashions on the field’. I am sure when it comes to Melbourne Spring Carnival, we are going to be given a run for out money. Sydney are hot on Melbourne’s heels in the fashion stakes and Kelli Odell took it one step further and was mindful of the fashion trends changing from traditional ‘Mad Men’ with some looking like ‘Stepford wives’.
As soon as Kelli stepped onto the stage, it was a new image that was new and fresh, still lady like chic, but more demure and attentive to current trends. Again Tanya Lazarou also gave us a new line to look at, and of course with that figure she looked gorgeous in her dress. There were some beautiful garments and not all made the cut even into the second round.
Petra coming in 2nd looked gorgeous in a red number and not to forget the beautiful Lisa Wellings. I loved your outfit and you always look spectacular. Of course Angela Menz had a wonderful contemporary look, with influence of ‘House of Holland’. Kelli Odell’s style epitomized the new look of the 20s being brought forward into the new era. The Arthur Galan was a spectacular piece for Kelli’s body and topped off with one of my favourite milliners, ‘Jonathon’, ‘Hatmaker’ in Double Bay. One of Sydney’s best kept secrets; but not for long.
Arthur Galan is a great designer and even knowing Versace Luncheon Magic Millions 2010 had a lady of the day, I won a $10,000 prize including a Diamond Ring, Coach Handbags, BMW lease and many other goodies. You cannot help but look spectacular in Galan’s garments. (Even when I was 4 ½ pregnant)
A big thank you to Penny Winn for her invite into the Myer Marquee and an insight into Myer purchasing, soon to be on racing fashion TV. The Marquee was gorgeous with Jen Hawkins looking spectacular and beautiful, and what a lovely person. I caught up with the gorgeous Caroline Pemberton, who I had the pleasure of meeting at my couture designer Dimitria in Melbourne. Kate Richie must be one of the most down to earth celebrities I have ever met. As I say, the bigger the celebrity, the more normal, the smaller the celebrity the bigger the ego. Congratulations Kate, Jen, Caroline for being such welcoming beauties.
