The Autumn Racing Carnival kicks off at Ascot Racecourse this Saturday with the running of the Group 2 Ausdrill Karrakatta Plate and the Group 3 WA Oaks plus this season’s best trackside fashion on show when Perth’s most fashionable fillies strut their stuff in the MYER Fashions on the Field women’s racewear competition.
Myer Ambassador and former Miss Universe Australia Laura Dundovic returns to the Ascot Racecourse where she was a judge last October at the WA state final for Myer Fashions on the Field and is very keen to see what local racegoers will be wearing trackside at this year’s Myer Fashions on the Field competition.
“Every race meet has its own distinct style. I’m delighted to be returning to Ascot and I can’t wait to see what trends Perth competitors will bring to this year’s Myer Fashions on the Field competition.” Laura said.
“Just always remember when it comes to racing fashion, make sure that you dress appropriately for the day - don’t reveal too much skin and millinery is a must!” Laura continued.
Contestants will be judged on set criteria including overall style and originality of their racewear.
Joining Laura on the judging panel will be Kerry Davenport – Myer General Manager Stores WA/SA, Emma Reynolds – 2012 WA State Final Fashions on the Field Winner, Claire Davies – Sunday Times Fashion Editor and Jessica Wilkinson – The West Fashion Editor.
Entrants will be in with the chance to win an impressive prize pool worth $5,000 with the ultimate winner gets to indulge all their fashion fancies with a $2,500 Myer Shopping Spree. The runner-up secures a $1,500 Myer Shopping Spree, the third place winner a $650 Myer Shopping Spree, and seven remaining finalists each take home a $50 Myer gift card.
Claudia Bertorello-Kell hosts the Myer Fashions on the Field with heats beginning at 12.45pm and registrations taking place at the Myer Fashions on the Field Stage, Leger Lawn from 10.30am to 12.30pm
All Myer Fashions on the Field competitors will receive a small gift courtesy of Myer and Perth Racing.
